Adoration of the Magi is one of the series of frescoes with which Giotto decorated the interior of the Scrovegni Chapel in Padua, Italy. In it, Giotto chose to depict the Star of Bethlehem as a comet. Giotto may have been inspired to do this after having witnessed the appearance in 1301 of the comet we now know as Halley's Comet.
